Access to the archaeological site

Olympia is located in the Ilia (Elis) region in the north-west of the Peloponnese Peninsula (about 340 km from Athens). In order to reach Olympia from Athens by car, you need to drive through the Greek National Road from Athens to Patra and then follow the route to Pyrgos and Olympia.

Know before booking

  • After booking, you will receive a confirmation email from Culture App with a link to
    download the app. If you don’t receive the confirmation, please check your spam folder.
    Once the app is activated, the product is non-refundable.
  • A smartphone with iOS 11.0 or later and Android 10 or later is required for the tour. The
    tour is not compatible with Windows software.
  • Installing the app will require about 430 MB of storage space on your phone.
  • The self-guided tour can be used anytime, both inside and outside the archaeological site.
  • The app works offline. Internet access is only needed to download the archaeological site
    content.
  • You can delete and re-download the app content at any time.
  • It is recommended to download the self-guided tour content over a Wi-Fi connection
    before your visit to the archaeological site, unless you have sufficient mobile data.
  • Information about the days and opening hours of the archaeological site and entrance
